AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS

University of Helsinki Open Science Award

The Finnish Museum of Natural History Luomus received this award for its extensive long-term work for open science in 2019. The first University of Helsinki Open Science Award was given in 2017. In 2019, the award jury wished to place special emphasis on the role of faculties and research-focused independent institutes in promoting open science.

NATIONAL OPEN SCIENCE AWARD

The national open science award was given for the Luomus-coordinated Finnish Biodiversity Information Facility and Metsähovi Radio Observatory. Luomus was recognised for its work in sharing and combining open data and for promoting active research and societal interaction.
