Luomus coordinates national surveys, such as bird ringing. A national genomic resource collection was established in Luomus in 2019. An active development of virtual services took place in 2020. umpula Botanic Garden turned 10 years in the summer of 2020. Kumpula reached a new visitor record the same year. Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden reached a new visitor record in 2019. The year 2019 was very busy at the Natural History Museum, but the corona virus pandemic closed the museum for several months in 2020. The staff at the customer service helped researchers in their work during the corona virus pandemic in 2020.
